Recovery after any procedure should be guided by your surgeon or physician. Do not begin mild hyperbaric sessions, or any new recovery therapy, after surgery without clearance from your care team. The overview below is general, plain-language information, not medical advice.
The idea behind it
Healing tissue uses oxygen. Breathing higher concentrations of oxygen under mild pressure (about 1.3 to 1.5 ATA) raises the amount of oxygen dissolved in blood plasma. Whether that is helpful for a specific surgery, and when it would be appropriate to start, is a medical question for your provider.
A typical at-home routine
People who use a home chamber often do 60 to 90 minute sessions on a schedule that fits their day. Comfort, consistency, and following your provider's guidance matter more than any single session.
This article is general wellness information, not medical advice, and describes mild hyperbaric use at 1.3 to 1.5 ATA, which differs from higher-pressure clinical HBOT; findings from clinical studies may not transfer. Individual results vary and are not guaranteed. Purebaric chambers are not medical devices. Always consult your surgeon or physician before using a chamber during recovery.
